We will shortly have more comprehensive information on Vitafloor on this page.
At Buxton Racehorses, we’ve been using a VM0 mobile unit for the last 6-7 weeks to ‘warm up’ and ‘cool down’ our horses before and after training every day with what we consider to be significant results. The horses enjoy being on the vibrating platform (between 15-30 minutes a session, dependent on workload and daily schedule) and acclimatised to it quickly and easily. In general maintenance terms, we’ve found that it has reduced ‘soreness’ and increased their suppleness – in riding terms, we’ve noticed that they travel much more easily.
We’ve also had some racing and wear and tear injuries to deal with, mostly to do with feet interestingly. One filly, who is just coming back to training had the worse deteriorating coffin bone that either our vet or vet/farrier had ever seen. We think Vitafloor has contributed significantly to her return to health, maintaining a reasonable level of fitness on stall rest and helping significantly to promote tremendous hoof growth… our vet/farrier was very impressed with that!
More on that in the next few weeks…
Our racing mare, SeasonsoftheHeart, has just been to Gulfstream, Miami to race. She managed to get ‘cast’ in her stall just prior to her last race (about 2-3 weeks ago) and significantly damaged her left rear hock in the process of straightening all the eyes on her stall guards and escaping. Again, we believe the Vitafloor has help here by flushing the injured area with blood and helping to maintain her level of fitness. She has been decidely ‘rank’ this week!
All we need now are some wins to confirm our belief that a Vitafloor is the single most important facility a trainer can have access to. Our partner trainer is just about to move his horses down to Gulfstream for the summer season and is wondering how he’s going to manage without it!
If you’d like to see the Vitafloor in action in Ocala, or would like to hire/trial a unit to find out what it can do for your horses, please give us a call on 352-727-6525
